Frequently Asked Questions
What happens to the fish I catch?
We partner with a trusted game processor in Kodiak.
Your fish is cleaned, vacuum-sealed, flash-frozen, and boxed for travel by a professional processor. We handle the logistics so you can focus on the adventure. The result? Fresh, clean fish ready to be taken home or shipped.
How should I pack for the return trip?
Bring a large tote or hard-sided cooler.
We recommend packing your personal gear inside a tote for the trip up, which can then be used to bring back your processed fish and any gear or game. This method saves space and keeps things organized.
Is WiFi available on the boat?
Yes—emergency WiFi only.
While we do provide limited WiFi access for emergency use, we encourage guests to unplug and enjoy the immersive wilderness experience. You'll have everything you need on board and none of the distraction
What gear is provided for fishing?
All rods, reels, bait, and tackle are included.
We provide high-quality gear for halibut, salmon, lingcod, and rockfish. You’re welcome to bring your own gear if you prefer, but it's not necessary.
Do I need a fishing license?
Yes, and we’ll guide you through getting it.
All anglers need a valid Alaska sportfishing license. We’ll provide details on how to purchase your license online before your trip begins. King Salmon stamps may also be required, depending on the season.
What’s the sleeping situation like?
You’ll stay in a private cabin aboard the M.V. Misty Fjord.
Each guest is assigned a cozy cabin with Tempur-Pedic bedding, storage, and a private en-suite bathroom. The boat accommodates up to 10 guests in total comfort.
What meals are included?
All meals, snacks, and drinks are provided.
Enjoy hot breakfasts, gourmet Alaska-style dinners, packed lunches for the deck, and snacks available all day. Coffee, hot chocolate, and beverages are always flowing.
Can I bring alcohol?
Yes, BYOB.
While we don’t serve alcohol on board, you’re welcome to bring your own. We recommend storing it safely in your luggage or cooler.
How long is the trip and what’s the itinerary?
Trips range from 3 to 5 nights depending on your booking.
Each day is customized based on tides, weather, and target species. Expect early mornings, full days on the water, and peaceful nights anchored in scenic coves.
